4th-8th Parents: Parent/Teacher Conferences for grades 4-8 will be Thursday, February 17th, and February 24th from 4:00-7:30 pm. Please call your child's respective office if you would like to schedule a conference (918) 341-3626. Elementary conferences will be later in the semester.
JT Family: With the anticipation of more snow in the forecast and the likelihood of roads not improving dramatically by morning, we will have another snow day tomorrow, Friday and look forward to warmer weather next week. Continue to be safe and enjoy the snow.
8th Grade Parents: The 8th grade Parent Orientation Night scheduled for tonight has been postponed until next Thursday night, February 10.

JT Parents and Families and Staff: In looking at the forecast for tomorrow, the forecast for freezing rain and sleet during the school day tomorrow could lead to conditions that would make travel to and from school dangerous. Because of this, we will have a snow day tomorrow. The weather and school conditions will continue to be monitored with regard to the rest of the week moving forward.

JT Family: Because the weather forecast in OK changes often, we are waiting to make any school closure decisions until this evening. However, please know the last thing we want to happen is to have school and put our students, staff, and families in danger when it comes to transporting to and from school safely. We will always error on the side of caution in this situation. Know that we do have four snow days built into our calendar this year, so in the event we are out of school due to inclement weather, we will likely use those before considering any kind of distance learning day.
8th Grade Families: Claremore High School's annual parent meeting for incoming freshmen is Thursday, February 3, from 6:30-7:00pm in the HS cafeteria. Any 8th grade JT parents who wish to attend are welcome, however, please know that the high school has a separate parent meeting just for JT students that discusses pretty much the same information later on in the semester.
At this time, we are looking for motivated and enthusiastic whole-child centered team players to fill two positions at the Justus-Tiawah Elementary next year. Parents and Families: We are changing our menu again for tomorrow and will be having corndogs. This will be the only option. Apologies for changing again. Thank you for your patience as we work to get our cafeterias back to full staff.
Looking forward to having everyone back in person on Tuesday. The lunch menu options have changed for Tuesday and Wednesday. For Tuesday Option 1 will be Chicken Noodles and Option 2 will be Turkey and Cheese Sandwich. For Wednesday Option 1 will be Chicken Patty and Option 2 will be Peanut Butter and Jelly.
JT Family: All extra-curricular activities such as athletics and Good News Club have been cancelled for this week as well. The goal is to be in a much better situation next week to be able to have activities as usual.
Elementary Parents PreK-3rd: Please check class dojo daily. This will be how we communicate and assign assignments.
JT Family: As you know we have been battling this new strain of COVID since we got back from Christmas. The number of teachers and staff who have tested positive is higher than any point of this pandemic. Although we have battled and managed it appropriately thus far, we have gotten to a point that we cannot safely and logically supervise, transport nor feed our students. Every vital area of our school has been greatly affected. Because of this, we are going to go to distance learning Tuesday, January 11th through Friday, January 14th. Students will return to in-person learning on Tuesday, January 18th. Teachers will push out assignments through their class Dojo or Google Classroom. Hopefully, this will allow for some separation to greatly diminish any further spread. This is not a decision I make lightly nor without weighing all options. Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding.
Parents of Junior High Students: This year's Science Fair has been scheduled for Friday, February 11. Students have been given the details and should have a letter coming home this week for you to sign. This is a graded science project that will require your student to put in time and effort. Students will present their final projects to a group of judges and winners from each class will be chosen. This is a fun opportunity for the students to explore topics that are interesting to them and I look forward to seeing their creativity!
