More 4th grade band excitement!
Fourth grade got excited for band today! The sixth grade band played some songs for them and taught them about their instruments.
Pie in the face update: Kindergarten was the class with the most participants in the Zoo Run! Eli and Finley (with help from Ms. Summers) smashed a pie in Coach Casey's face!

Mrs. Haws 4th graders have sent weeks studying the human body. Students have made x-rays, a model brain, and even learned the digestive process in a baggie! Finally they worked the human body puzzle of fitting all of their organs in it! So much fun watching their minds at work.
8th graders were invited to attend an informative meeting with Sequoyah administration and past Justus-Tiawah students about becoming Eagles next year.

As a teacher, I often hear concerns from parents and members of society about how students today seem to lack manners, respect, and proper etiquette. But here’s the hard truth: we can’t expect young people to meet expectations they’ve never been truly taught or given the chance to practice. Manners and social etiquette aren’t just ideas that kids absorb automatically—they’re skills that must be modeled, taught, and reinforced in real-life situations. If we want respectful, confident, and well-mannered students, we need to provide them with experiences that allow them to grow into those qualities. That’s why sometimes we have to go beyond the classroom. Today, I loaded my students onto the bus and took them to a local restaurant so they could practice what we’ve discussed in class…napkin in laps, eye contact when ordering food, please/thank you to the waitress, not eating until everyone has their food, which utensil to use and when to use it, and much more. We dressed in our “fancy clothes” and had the best time! These outings aren’t just field trips; they are intentional opportunities for students to shine, to apply their learning, and to see themselves as capable, respectful individuals. My favorite day of the year! ❤️
Today, Mrs. Moseley's class practiced a vital life skill...sewing on a button. The kids caught on quickly and wanted to keep practicing. Learning new skills outside the textbook helps students become well-rounded and more prepared for the real world. Great job, Wildcats!
Due to the field conditions and incoming rain, we are canceling tomorrow's running club. Since the weather outlook is dry for the weekend, we would like to have running club on Monday and then our awards and party on Wednesday. We hope to see everyone there on Monday, May 12!
The fourth grade learned about each region's states and capitals. Each student chose a state and made a float.
Due to the lack of electricity, we ask Wildcat Care students to be picked up as soon as possible.
