JT Parents and Families: After driving some of our route roads, the conditions currently are not good enough to run our bus routes. With the anticipation that the temperature is going to be below freezing when the sun goes down, we have decided to make tomorrow a distance learning day. Teachers will be reaching out to parents or pushing out work to the older students. Although we are having a distance learning day so we do not have to make it up later, we encourage students to also take time to enjoy the snow. Unfortunately, we will not be offering grab and go meals tomorrow. Be safe, and we will see you on Tuesday.

Just a reminder that we are still providing grab and go meals on Fridays at our north campus. You have until 9:00am to put in an order for today. You can put in an order at the following link: https://forms.gle/XJfEKeA2QisWqxH26

JT School: JT Family: Unfortunately we have had two positive cases in our 5th grade. Because of the large percentage that would have been quarantined due to contact tracing and because our older grades switch classes more often, we have made the decision to quarantine our entire 5th grade class through at least this week. We greatly appreciate the understanding and efforts of our 5th grade parents. The CDC has recommended some revised quarantine guidelines, and we are in the process of working with our local Health Department officials to get the appropriate guidance.

We found out that we had a student at our junior high test positive for COVID. Parents of students affected have been notified, and the students will be quarantined. There is strong evidence that the student contracted it from someone outside of school. Again, I appreciate the understanding of all parents involved. We ask that parents reserve meals for the following day at the following link https://forms.gle/XJfEKeA2QisWqxH26 Meals ordered must be picked up outside the North Campus Cafeteria from 10:00am-10:15am, Monday-Thursdays and 10:00am-11:00am on Fridays or any school-wide distance learning days. It’s not too late to complete the 2020 census because reporting has been extended through September 30. Please make sure our community is counted! If you have not already, complete the US Census at 2020census.gov today!

JT Families: We have had one of our students at the elementary identify as positive for COVID. Every indication is that the student contracted this from outside of the school. Parents in that child's classroom have been notified and we have followed our procedures in this situation and have quarantined the class. It has not been fun keeping individual classes separated but it is situations like this that reaffirm we are doing the right thing. These are difficult times for everyone and we will get through this. I am proud of our students for following the protocols we have in place. Thank you parents for reinforcing it on your end, and thank you to the parents of the affected class for being so understanding. That's how Wildcats roll!

The lunch form link is also located on our web page. It will be in the pop up banner that appears as soon as the web page loads.

Good evening parents, students, and families; Friday is our first distance learning day. Although we have not gotten our devices we have ordered, the decision has been made to still practice this should the unspeakable happen. COVID doesn't care if we have devices. For those who have devices the expectation is that you log-in and complete work in each of your courses Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday to be counted for this day. For students who do not have devices, teachers are sending paper assignments, and student will receive attendance credit when they are returned completed on Monday.

JT School: Great News JT Families! The USDA is making breakfast and lunch free to all children through December 31, 2020, but is subject to end earlier due to available USDA funds. Breakfast and lunch will be available free every day to all students effective tomorrow. Because at the beginning of COVID we did not qualify for the program, we partnered with Claremore through the summer. We have now applied and been approved for this due to certain waivers.
We do encourage families who have not yet completed the 2020-2021 free and reduced lunch application to complete it should this program end. If you need another copy, please contact the school.

In order to be safe and limit numbers in the building, we are asking that only one parent attend, wear a mask, and social distance in the stands. We are looking begin practice on Tuesday, August 4th.

If your child/children are going to play softball this year, we are asking that you email Coach Denney ( jdenney@justustiawah.com ) and provide athlete(s) name and grade.
