Wildcat Head

This year, our Read-A-Thon will be held in conjunction with Read Across America. The Read-A-Thon is designed to encourage your child's love of reading while supporting a vital part of school, the Library! Help your child pick fun books that get him or her excited about reading. If your child is not yet reading independently then have fun reading together.

Read-A-Thon is fun, promotes literacy, and challenges students to

Read-Read-Read!

Here's how it works:

1. Starting Thursday, February 20th, gather sponsors using your sponsorship form. Let sponsors know that all money raised helps support the library. Raising money is voluntary and all students are strongly encouraged to participate in the Read-A-Thon regardless of whether they are able to collect donations.

2. From Friday, February 28-March 6, students should try to read or be read to at least 15-30 minutes a day and keep a minute recording sheet of the number of minutes read.

3. Return  money pledge sheets and minute recording sheet to your child's teacher by Friday, March 13th. Make checks payable to Justus-Tiawah School.

4. For every $20 raised by your child, they will be able to pick a prize. Prizes will be picked by your child after all money is turned in the library. Prizes will then be ordered and handed our 2 weeks after the Read-A-Thon is over. Every Child who participates will be awarded a book mark. Remember, to participate in the Read-A-Thon only requires logging minutes, not collecting pledges.

Thank you in advance for your participation and support. If you have questions or wish to help, please contact.
